Likable Things - October
And now a new semi-regular featurette: likable things, illustrated.
*The Autumn foliage: I am taking a million snaps and stuffing branches in vases. I'm mentally attempting to bottle up every one of those myriad hues.
* Meet the Beatles: Because Fall makes me nostalgic and John Lennon's rhythm guitar on those early records will forever be where it's at.
* Homemade donuts: I like this recipe.
* Hand-knit socks
*"Eureka: Nerdy, delightful, escapist fantasy at its finest. See also: places I'd like to move to, asap.
*And this Kickstarter. Jane Austen? Card game? Win/win, I say.
And you?
Goldenrod
Something I'm stitching for an upcoming open studios event. More details closer to the date, I promise/scout's honor.
And locals, RiverRun Bookstore has copies of Oh My Godmother: The Glitter Trap that I signed if you're interested. Thanks to the nice folks there for having me a few weeks back!
Also: happy weekends.
Hoot, Hoot
I'm designing fabrics for Christmas presents, skirts for my nieces. A few weeks back, I asked my sister to do some reconnaissance work for me and suss out her kiddos' dream fabrics. So far I have requests for robots, ballerinas and owls (but sadly no robot owl ballerinas).
Anyhow, here's the owl fabric in progress and a tank top mockup. Because even though it was 48 degrees this morning, a girl can dream (you hear that, Mother Nature).
*Edit: After posting this, I kept trying to think where in my brain barn owls were buried and then I remembered. You're welcome, internets.

The Forager
Inside my sketchbook, I found her.
Today and/or Tuesday
Autumnal
I haven't done a "What I Wore Today" illustration in awhile, so here you go, internets. The illustration leaves it a little unclear, but the shoes I have on are covered in silver glitter. GLITTER! Sorry for that momentary outburst, but if glitter doesn't beget hyperbolic enthusiasm then what have we become?
And since Sunday is the autumnal equinox, Happy (almost) Fall.
