Girls Who Wear Glasses

I'm knee-deep in summer-ing at the moment. There's been the requisite swimming, some mighty fine cold brew and nights spent reading late, as it's too hot to sleep (not that I'm complaining, mind you).

In addition to things of a seasonal nature, there's been plenty of experimenting going on. I'm finishing up some stickers (see above), working on pins and making assorted things for the shop and fall Open Studios. I'm getting ready to burn a screen, hopefully to print up some tea towels (fingers crossed). And I'm sketching new things, playing with different media, using some downtime to stretch myself creatively.

So all in all? I give Summer a solid five stars.

Front Street

A new print I finished up today. It's watercolor, pencil, collage and a bit of digital tweaking.

Asides:

* We've got loads and loads of new pages over on the ongoing "Alfred" comic, in case you missed it this past spring.

* I'm enjoying obsessed with this book about artist Eric Ravilious.

South by Southwest

I'd painted up some odds and ends for a new pattern, then got a bee in my bonnet to turn it into a plate design. I was in Texas last weekend and my head is full of new palettes, places and plants. Case in point, above. See also, below.

Round and Round

I turned this...

...into this.

I've almost finished sewing up some infinity scarves and should have them in the shop by end of this week. They're made of a rather delicious organic cotton knit and truth be told, I am having an awfully hard time not keeping one for myself. The muggy temperatures, however, are dissuading me from any such theft (rest assured).
