South by Southwest

I'd painted up some odds and ends for a new pattern, then got a bee in my bonnet to turn it into a plate design. I was in Texas last weekend and my head is full of new palettes, places and plants. Case in point, above. See also, below.

July

Since our last transmission:

* I've finished artwork for Finding Wild, by Megan Wagner Lloyd. Coming out Summer 2016, it's been a delight to illustrate. I can't wait to share more in the coming months about this book.

* I have a backlog of prints as well as some scarfs that'll be winging their way into my Etsy shop throughout the month.

* Aside from that, I'm attempting to root a Bird of Paradise cutting, binging on episodes of Agatha Raisin and itching to sew the Dottie Angel frock pattern.

* And a belated Happy Canada Day and an early Happy July 4th!

Cream + Sugar

It's Friday (insert: flinging of imaginary confetti)! Hope your week was swell. I made this pattern eons ago (for a Spoonflower challenge) and forgot about it until I was rifling through files this afternoon. Speaking of which, some French Press sounds splendid about now...

Happy weekends!

The Lonestar State

I made a whirlwind trip down to Texas the other weekend to visit family. It was the perfect antidote to the most brutal winter I can remember.

Needless to say, my camera is filled to capacity with pictures of flora, fauna, nieces and nephew. And all I want to draw are succulents and cacti (ergo, the pattern at the top of this post).

Thanks for the creative shot in the arm, Lone Star State. I owe you one.
